Lucerne- The Lake City

Lucerne is a city in central Switzerland, in the German-speaking portion of the country. Lucerne is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and the capital of the district of the same name. With a population of about 80,501 people according to wiki Lucerne is the most populous city in Central Switzerland, and a center of transportation, telecommunications, and government of this region. The city's urban area consists of 17 cities and towns located in three different cantons with an overall population of about 250,000 people.

Due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne ,the city has got its name.Gaint Swans swimming around the lake it is a beautiful place to hangout during the evenings with a cup of tea.

The Lion Monument :The Lion Monument commemorate the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris, France.

Interesting to note, but if you look closely, you'll notice that the surrounding outline of the lion resembles the shape of a pig. Apparently, the sculptor had a falling out with someone associated with the contracting of the memorial that he created the pig shape out of spite

Lake Lucerne is also known as the 'Lake of the Four Forest Cantons', may be the most beautiful lake in Switzerland. It is certainly amongst the most spectacular, with mountains on all sides and forests coming down to the shore in many places and certainly worth doing a cruise if you have the time. The lake is irregularly shaped and offers a new view with every change of direction.

Lucerne has long been a destination for tourists. One of the city's famous landmarks is the Chapel Bridge , a wooden bridge first erected in the 14th century.

Mount Titlis - The DDLJ Spot

Switzerland has always managed to be one of the most preferred locations for many filmmakers for decades. Be it the dashing Rishi Kapoor in Chandni, charming Shahrukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) or playful Ranbir in Bachna Ae Haseeno, many have got their lady loves amidst the exotic locations of the country, making it a dream destination for all those in love.

What took me to new excitement level, however, was when a scene from the movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was shot here, Titlis became more than just recommended place for outing, especially for Bollywood Lovers. Which is why perhaps, when I exit the Rotair the world’s first revolving cable car, that lets me spin my way to the top of this sacred mountain the first thing that greets me are giant cardboard cutouts of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. A queue of Indians move around the cutouts, clearly eager to be photographed with the paper stars against the snowy backdrop of the mountain. So did I.

The Mount Titlis- Where Angles Come To Play

After a day of stay at the Hilton hotel near Zurich airport, we started our journey to the greatest mountains on the earth, the Mount Titlis.

About Mount Titils : Titlis is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Berne in Switzerland. At 3,238 metres above sea level, it is the highest summit of the range north of the Susten Pass, between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland. It is mainly accessed from Engelberg (Obwalden) on the north side and is famous as the site of the world's first revolving cable car. The cable car system connects Engelberg to the summit of Klein Titlis (3,028 m) through the three stages of

Gerschnialp (1,262 m)
Trübsee (1,796 m) and
Stand (2,428 m).

It is one of the largest rotating cable cars of the world. The internal rotating plate gives 360 degree of the breath taking scenic views of the world.

Heart beat slows down as the cable car ascends, and you forget about the fact that if you fall, none of the piece of your body will be found. In drizzle rain, the monsoonic look of mount Titlis is eye catchy.

The cattle grazing fields, which we see only in discovery channel or in movies are found here , and exclusively here. Every time you reach a stage, you need to change the car.The last stage would have a rotating cable car.

Following the greenary, the snow covered mountains look gigantic.
Third Stage, the “Rotair”, with more space to move around, you don’t need to hurry up finding your best view point next to the window, instead, the whole saucer-like container moves 360 degrees as we start our upward journey and brings you right in front of your eyes mind-blowing Landscapes. Your adventurous spirit wakes up as we reach the last final stage. A sign welcomes you at 3028 mts with the name “Klein Titlis”. From here, all you have to do is to enjoy the alpine air and scenery.

It is chilling cold, sun shines but warms little in a still peaceful morning, with a drizzle rain. Slowly, crowds of tourist move to the terraces and its panoramic views. Engelberg is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Switzerland during the whole year.

We then rode on the ‘Ice Flyer’, another popular tourist attraction. Basically it is a roller coaster that runs over the Alps range at intimidating speeds. The thrilling ride left us gasping and yet at the same time we fought to keep our eyes open, to soak in the mesmerising scenery that encompassed us.

On reaching Mt. Titlis the level of infrastructural development present there left me stunned.

The structure had five levels each leading to a different attraction, be it a coffee shop overlooking the glacier, or a specially designed walk where one could climb to the top of the glacier. The top itself was absolutely mesmerising. The experiences of holding snow in our hands, playing with it and even falling on it made this trip extremely special. It was a memorable experience.

The Zurich Stay

As soon as we reach Zurich, we had check-in to our hotel were we had to rest for the day. Separate cottage homes were allocated for each family. The food was delicious.Though it was an Indian restaurant, the food there had continental and Chinese touch.

The beautiful wooden cottages are breath taking. Awesome , flawless construction, well planned and well designed interiors

Something on Swiss food :In Switzerland, breakfast typically includes bread, butter or margarine, marmalade or honey, maybe some cheese or cereals, plus milk, cold or hot chocolate, tea or coffee.Lunch may be as simple as a sandwich or a birchermüesli or it could be a complete meal.Veg or non veg, options are many.raw vegetables, half boiled meat, sausages form the main course
Depending on what people had for lunch, dinner can be a full main course or just some bread, cheese, maybe some dried meat or any other light meal.Drinks range from plain water, over different types of soft drinks including most internationally well known brands plus some local products, to a great variety of beers and wines. Hot drinks include many different flavors of tea and coffee.

Journey to Switzerland !!!

Continuing my travel journey , I would wish to share my experience in Switzerland. We started our journey from the city of Paris and moved to Swiss city of Zurich .It was a 6 hour long journey by road in a Volvo coach. It was cloudy, rainy. Full of greenery all around. Switzerland is considered to be one of the scenic beauties of the world. So, as you are fast approaching the city , you would see glimpses of hilltops , cattle grazing farms stretched across hectares of land. Its is better I show them in the pictures that I have taken.

These pictures are taken from inside the coach , so its bit grainy. It is really a faster and painless journey. The large underpass of mountains , doesn't even make you feel that you are passing through a a Ghat section.there are absolutely no U-turns , Zigzag paths , crossroads, in between. All you see is green , green and green.

Going abroad? use Fake-Tel......reduce roaming charges

When you use your mobile abroad and you'll be "roaming". This is when you connect to an overseas network and calls are routed via that network provider instead of your home network, at a vastly increased cost.
A telephone company, telephone service provider or telecommunications operator, is a kind of communications service provider that provides telecommunications services such as telephony and data communications access. I would like to start a telephone services company named ‘Fake-Tel’.The main motive of this is to reduce roaming charges.
Now let me talk about its strengths and weaknesses .The company would provide GSM network services across India. When I say across India, it would not leave any nook & corner of any Indian state. Even in remote places we would be having our towers with minimum of 3G capability. This is our real strength i.e. reachability. We would be setting up independent towers and we are not sharing it with any competitor. In doing this, we are not at all compromising the cost. We would be giving the service at competitive prices. We are also providing the value added services as any other network along with this; we are coming up with a plan of giving 250 MB browsing data free per month for our customers. This is a unique feature that we are introducing .We will also provide limited free Skype calls .This is how we are creating the demand
About the weaknesses, our pricing factor is decided based on TRAI guidelines. So if there is change in the minimum price, it would affect our pricing as well. So , we have a limited control over the price. Also, as we are providing free Skype calls, we need to pay them a certain amount of share from the income, which also affects the price.

While travelling, If you're only likely to make a few calls, or are sticking within the Europe, the easiest way is to sign up for a "don't ask, don't get" discounted roaming add-on from our  network. Many of the network providers offer add-ons which reduce the cost of roaming abroad. The competitor charge a nominal fee for this, But in 'Fake-Tel' , its completely free!!.
We will be targeting the general public they are the major beneficiaries .We would also be targeting the youth and students by student specific promotional offers. We have special prices and offers for the corporates as well. So, the elasticity of demand varies from the target customers and the prices fixed for them.

So over all the pricing factor for services and the target customers for the respective pricing affects the elasticity of demand in telecom services.
